FAQs

HEXA-BEAM FAQs
Is the HEXA-BEAM laser suitable for secondary/high school experiments?

The HEXA-BEAM laser is suitable for secondary/high school physics experiments due to its emission powers of standard wavelengths under 1 mW.

The laser meets Class 2 specifications and thus complies with the health and safety regulations for undergraduate labs.

How long does it take to set up the HEXA-BEAM?

Due to its pre-determined wavelengths, between three to six different wavelengths, the HEXA-BEAM laser can be set up with ease by using the simple dial knob.

How can the HEXA-BEAM laser be set up?

This laser is compatible with a standard 30mm cage system, meaning an experiment can be set up directly in front of the laser. Flexible in its setup, the HEXA-BEAM can be placed on optical tables, mounted on posts, clamped onto a table or simply used free-standing.

Spectroscopic Cells FAQs
I require a different spectroscopic cell configuration, can you help?

We can design a tailored solution for your spectroscopic cells. The most popular configurations are listed on our product pages for the spectroscopic cells, but we can offer a bespoke configuration. Simply get in touch with our team to discuss.

What is the purity level of your spectroscopic cells?

The purity level of the natural elements used in the manufacture of our cells is greater than 99%. This is then distilled to an even higher level during the filling process.

How are your spectroscopic cells shipped?

Our spectroscopic cells are shipped separately from any other products. This is because they are subject to hazardous goods regulations and therefore are shipped using specific methods compliant with the regulatory rules, and thus incur extra shipping and handling charges.

What vapours can the spectroscopic cells be filled with?

Vapour cells can contain Rubidium (Rb), Rubidium Isotope 85 or 87, Caesium (Cs), Potassium (K), Sodium (Na), Iodine (I), and Water. Our vapour cells can also be provided with a buffer gas of the following: Helium, Xenon, Argon, Nitrogen, or Neon gases. All at your specified pressure.

Is there a limit to how many spectroscopic cells I can purchase?

At Photonics Technologies, we aim to provide our customers with the products they need. If you wish to make a large order, then please get in touch with our team, and we can discuss this.

Mirror Mount FAQs
What different configurations do you provide for your mirror mounts?

Both our Kinematic and Gimbal Optical mirror mounts can be configured to suit your needs. With front and back plates, either open or closed, with either left or right-hand versions, and with a number of adjusters. We even offer our optical mirror mounts in 12 metallic colours.

Is there a limit to how many mirror mounts I can purchase?

We always aim to provide our clients with the products they require for their facility. If you’d like to discuss ordering any products in large quantities, please get in touch.

Laser Stabilisation FAQs
What laser stabilisation products do Photonics Technologies offer?

It’s important that a laser beam has high precision and is aimed exactly at its target point.  We provide ‘laser position stabilisation’, ‘laser frequency stabilisation’, and laser power stabilisation products. The first ensures the accuracy of the laser, the second ensures the frequency of the laser, and the latter offers automated regulation and control of the laser beam power.

Delivery FAQs
How long does delivery take?

Each estimated delivery time will be calculated upon ordering since orders will contain different products. Our orders for UK delivery are shipped using a 24-hour delivery service, and a 2-5 day delivery service for international orders.
