eLas Diode Laser
The Diode Laser kit includes everything you need to measure the spatial distribution of laser diode emission using a 100 mW laser diode.
The current, temperature and current modulation of the diode can be adjusted on the versatile controller with integrated photo diode amplifier, enabling the design of multiple experiments, for example the dependency of the laser wavelength on the chip temperature and injection current.
A digital voltmeter is provided and can be connected to the internal amplifier of the laser diode controller to take measurements.
The kit includes a polarising filter mounted in a rotation unit, allowing students to investigate the dependency of the diode current on the polarisation of laser light. The relative output power of the diode may be measured as a function of the injection current to determine threshold current and slope efficiency. Absorption in an Nd:YAG crystal allows for additional experiments to examine the laser wavelength.
